Household Hazardous Waste Event

The City of Grapevine will be hosting its annual Household Hazardous Waste Event on Saturday, March 28 from 8am until 11:30am at the Service Center, 501 Shady Brook Drive.  This event is for Grapevine residents ONLY.  Proof of residency (driver’s license or utility bill) is required.

Acceptable items will be any household hazardous waste (paint, oil, herbicides, pesticides, cleaners, fluorescent bulbs, etc.).

Educational information and demonstrations will also be hosted in the City's parking lot area across the street at 500 Shady Brook Drive.

Other Acceptable Items include:
  • Paper Shredding (limit of 5 "office" boxes or 200 lbs.)
  • Styrofoam (clean, white packing foam and packing peanuts)
  • Cell phones and PDAs
  • Eye Glasses & Hearing Aids
  • Appliances
  • Mattresses
  • Fire Extinguishers
  • Electronics
  • Batteries
  • Metal
  • Ink Jet/ Toner cartridges
  • Tires
  • Donation Items (Clothes, Shoes & Reuse Items)
  • Food Donations
* Canned and dry food goods will be collected for GRACE.

Items that will NOT be accepted at this event are:

Unknown waste, medical waste, pharmaceuticals, ammunition/explosives, closed cylinders (e.g.propane tanks), radioactive material, commercial or business waste.

Grapevine residents who cannot attend this event can take their household hazardous waste to the Environmental Collection Center located at 6400 Bridge Street in Fort Worth 817.392.3279. The ECC hours are Thursday & Friday 11:00 am – 7:00 pm and Saturday 9:00 am – 3:00 pm. This service is provided free of charge to Grapevine residents.

COST - One Canned or Dry Food item is requested; however, this event is provided free of charge to Grapevine residents.

ADOPTIONS - Pet Adoptions and Vaccinations (10am) will be hosted by the Grapevine Animal Control Center.

FOOD - Canned and dry foods will be collected for families in need at this event. Goods will be distributed by GRACE.

EDUCATION - Please visit our education & outreach area across the street from the event. We will also be hosting a variety of recycling experts and vendors.

This event is provided free of charge to City of Grapevine residents.
